"Superteen" is an attempt to record our need to return to a nostalgic, "safer" past. It shows our intent to camouflage our weaknesses, insecurities and anxieties, which have become grueling in these difficult years we live in, behind retro, truly intense, colourful pieces of magazines and books with fashion, texture, animal and floral elements.
Think of it as a pop surreal cover of a vintage young ladies magazine.

For this collection we created a series of dark, mystic surreal portraits. The main elements include parts of portraits from classic paintings in combination with heavy/thick botanical elements. Ever since we began, our work has evolved around humans and in this series of portraits we wanted to convey the effect of time on man as well as the impact of the physical environment where people are integrated in. We have added small graphic elements that show luxury and elegance, like golden jewels, precious diamonds and gold trimmings. This shows that these portraits, centuries later, still remain timeless and relevant. In a figurative sense, we wanted to symbolize the stoicism and patience of man throughout history and independently of the circumstances, which can be compared to the difficulties we have been going through in the present times. In this collection, we present 5 instances/results of time on the human psyche.

The face is covered almost completely with botanical elements so as to not surrender its vulnerable introspection, insecurity, and psychic truth without a fight. This is an attempt to create harmony between humans and nature, and to explore the theory that each person has the whole world inside them.
Just like all of Frank Moth’s art this collection explores and struggles with the universal words and concepts of love, humility, nostalgia and eternity.
